Advanced Pharmaceutical Preparations and Materials Research Center (hereinafter referred to as Center), founded in 2016, is one of the scientific research institutes affiliated to the Pharmaceutical Research Institute of China Pharmaceutical University. Advanced pharmaceutical preparations are a frontier research field in contemporary pharmaceutics and an important part of improved new medicine. Medical materials are the support for the research and production of advanced pharmaceutical preparations and are also the basis for developing key process technologies.

The goal of the center is to become an advanced R & D base of advanced pharmaceutical preparations and medicinal materials research institutes, also a platform of talent training and combination of production, education and research. At the same time, the center will actively promote cooperation at home and abroad and promote the development of advanced pharmaceutical preparations and medicinal materials in our country.

At present, the Center has introduced one Yangtze River Chair Professor (part-time) of the Ministry of Education from abroad, one Thousands of National Youth, two Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu Province, one as the second level of training object of 333 high-level talent training project, one from Jiangsu Province Outstanding Youth Foundation, and one from Young talent lift project of China Association for Science and Technology.

The center is mainly located in Xuwu campus, consisting of six laboratories:

     (1) Nano drug laboratory

     (2) Nucleic acid and peptide drug laboratory

     (3) Preparation technology laboratory

     (4) Medical Materials Laboratory

     (5) Biology Laboratory

     (6) Physical and Chemical Testing Laboratory

   Established and proposed cooperative laboratories and centers include:

(1) China Pharmaceutical University – National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Collaborative Innovation Research Center for Nanomedicine

(2) China - France Nanodrug Research Center (in discussion)

(3) China Pharmaceutical University - Enterprise Joint Laboratory for New Materials (in discussion)

(4) China Pharmaceutical University - Enterprise Joint Laboratory for Advanced Preparations (in discussion)

    The Center mainly focuses on the fundamental research and key technologies application of advanced preparations and medicinal materials, which have prospective and important application prospects in the future, closely around the treatment of major diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
